What a week. Dropped the boys off as usual Sunday night, then kept on north to Plattsburgh, where I'd rented a dilapidated cabin for a week. Just didn't want to be in Manhattan. It exacerbates stress. It had no wifi so I had to go to a Starbucks inside a Price Chopper to work during the day. It was nice to have the routine of going to work and coming home. I probably ought to try to do that when I'm here. I brought a bathing suit but it was cold the whole time, which was unfortunate since the bathroom and shower were all outdoors. Friday night, I left and drove to Callicoon and slept in my car in a public boat launch on the Pennsylvania side of the Delaware River, just across from Cochecton, where I lived awhile after leaving my ex-wife. Listened to a lot of Shawn Ryan podcasts.

Sandwich with tomato and cheese, macarons in green and brown, and a bottle of lemonade on a wooden table with a plant

A stressful fourteen-hour workday, but grateful for a challenging job. And for the ability to run across the street for a great lunch at Le Fournil.

Man holding a lightbox sign that reads "BRAINSTATION NYC POWER HOUR" while eating a snack in a modern office space

A lot of people might look at this picture and say "Big deal, it's a guy eating a cookie" but what they don't realize is this is actually the fifth cookie I took during the work meeting today.
