Erstwhile Okie on St. Mark's Place. "That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past."
Got another shelf put up. Still need to paint both white...
Was looking forward to getting home and getting to work this evening. The miter saw made a lot of noise, which always makes me a bit nervous in a small apartment, and made a terrific mess, especially since the chair rails are some sort of PVC that sent little shavings everywhere.
The angles where the pieces meet were definitely the biggest challenge. I posted a few pictures. They range from not awful to awful. But nothing some spackle can't fix!
Then, at the end, got to tidy up, which is always so satisfying. Unfortunately, had to leave my coffee table wedged against the base board while the liquid nails set.
Not long after I moved in, I bought this bed off Facebook Marketplace. It has a little wall on the side with shelves insert accessible from the bed itself, but said wall is meant to be hidden. It's unfinished.
So several months ago I bought some panels of faux bead board and tacked them over the back, and also on the adjoining wall to make a little alcove. I've meant ever since to finish it with baseboards along the bottom and a decorative chair rail along the top but only this weekend finally bought them. So you can see them here sitting on top and a closer view in the second pic.
Excited to chop them and tack them up later this week. Will be sure to post progress...
