Two framed portraits hang on a light blue wall above a wooden bench, with a shelf and bookshelves nearby
Wooden shelf brackets are placed on a bed frame with a remote control and other tools nearby

Used leftover wood from the last project to make a little shelf. Need to fill in the screw holes and paint it all white, but I think it will look nice with some books and pictures I'll bring down from upstate, which is where I'm headed now. Office closed tomorrow and next day so figured I might as well make my way up.

Was looking forward to getting home and getting to work this evening. The miter saw made a lot of noise, which always makes me a bit nervous in a small apartment, and made a terrific mess, especially since the chair rails are some sort of PVC that sent little shavings everywhere.

The angles where the pieces meet were definitely the biggest challenge. I posted a few pictures. They range from not awful to awful. But nothing some spackle can't fix!

Then, at the end, got to tidy up, which is always so satisfying. Unfortunately, had to leave my coffee table wedged against the base board while the liquid nails set.
