A bad gym morning on Tuesday was followed by a day off Wednesday, a day off Thursday, and a day off Friday... In fairness, I very rarely get to have my sons during the week, and the 5:30am wakeup necessitated a 9pm bedtime and I didn't want to miss any time with him. So, no regrets. I'll get back at it Monday.
In the meantime, I've had a little side project I've been playing with for awhile, which I made to satisfy a personal desire, a Bible study app that helps get immediate answers to questions as you read, in a voice aligned with your personal faith / denomination / literalism, etc...
The app can already be used in a web browser at qwil.app, but my next goal is to get the Android app into the Google Play Store. It's my first time trying to do this, and it's been an interesting process. The app is built and functional (and pretty sweet!), but there's a bunch of paperwork Google makes you fill out, then you have to have at least twelve people download it in test mode, and use it for 14 days before they will let it be publicly available in the Play Store.
I made a post requesting volunteers on Instagram, but had very little response... Understandable, it sounds a bit daunting not to mention that most of the folks I know are probably on iPhones. Luckily, Reddit has a sub just for people to ask for testers in exchange for testing themselves. Using that I'm up to 9 testers. But probably need to get at least 20 to reliably have 12 that use it sufficiently for 2 weeks.
It's been a fun learning experience anyway. Do you have an Android and feel generous?? Maybe you can help get me there... To become a tester, it's just two steps:
1. Join my Google Group to have access.
2. Wait 5-10 minutes (it takes a minute to process) then download the app.
You do have to wait 5-10 minutes. If you follow the download link immediately after joining the group, you'll probably get an error. It usually takes a little while. If you continue to be unable to download, hit me up at hello@qwil.app and I'll help walk you through it.
